Free, whether you ever join the class or not
Most people arrive here looking for a paper or a grade boundary. Those pages stay open, they do not ask for an email, and they are not a trial.
Open a set
Each set is a full run of past-paper questions on one topic, marked out of the total shown. More are added as we write them.

What a membership adds
A taught course, not a pile of videos.
A real class, twice a week
One hour, live, on Sunday and Wednesday evenings. Type a question and get it answered in the lesson — you are not watching a recording of somebody else's class.
Miss one and it is already there
Every lesson is recorded and posted the same evening. All 63 of last year’s lessons were recorded, and they stayed in the library for the whole year.
Practice that remembers you
Flashcards that come back round just before you would have forgotten them, and your progress tracked lesson by lesson so you can see what has not stuck.
What the hour actually looks like
This is what a typical lesson looks like. The shape moves with the topic, so no two are identical, but nobody has to work out how to use it.
First 10 min
Where this fits
A recap of what the last lesson established, and where today's topic sits in the specification.
The teaching
Worked on the board
The method built up from scratch on the board, then applied to exam questions of the kind the boards actually set.
All the way through
You are working too
Questions to try yourself as we go, polls the whole room answers so it is clear who has got it before the lesson moves on, and the chat open the whole time. That is the part a video cannot do.
Same evening
The recording goes up
Posted with the board you can scroll back through, and it stays in your library for the rest of the year.
The chat is open the whole hour. Questions get answered in the lesson, by name, and the answer is in the recording too — so the person who asked in week three is still helping somebody in week twenty.
What students said about Andy’s group sessions
Google reviews of Andy’s group sessions at The A Level Maths Tutor, written before the academy began.
“I would really recommend Andy as a maths tutor, particularly the group sessions which I partook in. Andy has always been really encouraging despite me finding maths my most difficult A-level. His tutoring has helped me massively grow in confidence and feel more prepared as I completed my exams recently.”
“… She then started weekly group exam practice sessions with Andy in December and within a few weeks, I could see her confidence starting to build again and her love of maths returning. The structure of the sessions was perfect, with Andy giving a range of tips and strategies to start and then the students worked in pairs to tackle exam questions, with Andy interjecting to support and guide as required.”
“I had the best experience participating in the group sessions with Andrew. My confidence really grew under Andrew’s guidance and this helped me to tackle my exams … He was so patient and encouraging.”
The whole year, already planned
This is not a library you have to navigate. It is a course with an order, taught in the sequence the topics build in.
Autumn
6 Sep – 18 Dec
Functions, trigonometry and calculus
Modulus functions, graph transformations, arcs and sectors, reciprocal trigonometry, differentiation, sequences, the binomial expansion and integration.
Spring
10 Jan – 27 Mar
Mechanics, statistics and the harder methods
Projectiles, forces and friction, hypothesis testing, parametric equations, numerical methods and proof.
Summer
19 Apr – 13 Jun
Whole-paper revision and exam technique
Past papers worked in full, the mistakes examiners see most, and what to do in the room on the day.
Who teaches the lessons
Not a rota of tutors, and not a stock video course. Almost every lesson is taught by Andy, who has taught this specification every year for thirteen years.
Andy Parker
Lead Tutor · A Level Maths examiner · MSc Theoretical Physics
Andy has taught A Level Maths since 2010, and only A Level Maths since 2016. As Course Leader of a sixth form maths department in Nottinghamshire he took student progress from below average to the 91st percentile nationally — with classes almost double the national average size. Those results are officially classed as outstanding.
He has marked real exam scripts for Edexcel, OCR and AQA, and has been rated “exceeded expectations” as an Edexcel examiner for five years running. That is thousands of scripts, and it is why these lessons spend as much time on the sentence that earns the mark as on the method that gets the answer.
He teaches the entire specification every single year, to students of every ability. So when an explanation does not land, there is a second one, and a third.
Guest lessons
Once in a while a lesson is taught by another member of the team at The A Level Maths Tutor — all experienced A Level specialists, several of them examiners too, and every one of them introduced to you by name before they teach.
Questions people ask before they join
What if I miss a lesson?
Nothing happens. The recording is posted the same evening and stays in your library all year — last year every one of the 63 lessons was recorded.
Which exam board is it for?
The course is taught for AQA, Edexcel, OCR A and OCR MEI, and lessons name the specification point they cover.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from your own account page, in a couple of clicks. No phone call and no email to write.
Which year group is this?
Year 2 — the second year of A Level Maths, sitting the exams next summer.
Do I have to pay to use the past papers?
No. The papers, the grade boundaries and the practice sets are free to anyone, with or without an account, and that is not going to change.
I already have tutoring with you.
Then membership is already included. Log in with the same email and the lessons are there.
Do you do one-to-one tutoring?
Yes — one-to-one lessons with practising examiners are at thealevelmathstutor.co.uk, which runs this academy. Premium membership here is included with tutoring.
Your first two weeks are £5.
Two live lessons a week in term time, the whole recording library, and nothing to cancel by phone.
Or just take the papers and go — they are free, and they always will be.
